IRTA Punta Cana Convention Cancelled Due To Hurricane Dorian

Sadly, the Executive Committee met this afternoon and decided that due to the projected path of Hurricane Dorian – the prudent move is to cancel this year’s convention.

The category 4 hurricane is projected to hit Florida and the southeast U.S. on Monday night, Tuesday & Wednesday – most likely closing all Florida airports, as well as the important connecting hubs of Atlanta and Charlotte. 85% of our attendees are connecting to Punta Cana through Orlando, Miami, Atlanta or Charlotte.

Key IRTA personnel will not be able to get to Punta Cana, including our Chairman of the Board Scott Whitmer, our keynote speaker, Patty Weston and other seminar presenters.

IRTA will refund all cash and trade registration fees in the near future. However, airline flight refunds, (or credits), are the direct responsibility of the ticket holder.

The entire IRTA family apologizes for this untimely and unfortunate inconvenience. But we also trust you understand the rationale of our wise decision.
